Unstapler

Controls:
D - walk
Arrow Keys - balance
Space - hit enemies
Story:
It all started with work. A typical office side job, which is so popular among many, but over time, work became a routine. Eventually, something temporary became a sentence, and our protagonist—a regular office worker, one of many—made a decision. Having spent his whole life in a state where stability became a weight on his chest, he realized that the only thing he lacked was risk. Throwing a rope between the two tallest buildings of his metropolis, he simply walked across it. Yes, many other workers, just like him, with their brains washed out, tried to stop him, but will they succeed? And most importantly, will our hero reach the end? Will he prove that he is more than just a calculator in a suit? That’s what you’ll find out.
Style:
The original idea was to show how office work, with its stable content and dull set of functions, turns people into kind of robots. To achieve this result visually, I literally used stock images and created animations from them. In this way, one character reflects all the people similar to him. In the future, the game might evolve into something on a larger scale, but for the most part, this is more of a game for a jam.
P.S
My previous game was too focused on the story, so this one I made with a much stronger emphasis on gameplay. I’ll be honest, I made the game under very tight deadlines, so it turned out a bit rough. At the moment, the game is not finished and is an endless scroller. Don’t expect a final, but I’d be happy to hear your high scores! The game was made specifically for Tiny Embers Jam.
